Fabrics & printing
Every garment is printed by dye sublimation on a fabric chosen for the job. Here is how the printing works, and what each fabric is used for.
How the printing works
Dye sublimation turns the ink into a gas that bonds with the fibres, so the colour ends up inside the fabric rather than sitting on top of it. There is no layer to crack, peel or wash off, and the garment feels the same printed as unprinted.
It holds its colour in the sun and through a lot of washing, which is why it suits sports kit and school uniforms better than screen printing or direct-to-garment.
It also means there is almost no limit on the design. Gradients, patterns running across a seam, a different design on each panel: none of it costs more than a plain colour, and neither do player names and numbers.
Why it matters for a club
Nothing peels off in the wash
The number on the back lasts as long as the shirt does.
Complexity is free
A six-colour design costs the same as a two-colour one.
Names and numbers included
Printed at the same time, at no extra charge.
The fabrics we use
